PRAY FOR THE WORLD

In 2015 after watching the news and seeing thousand of Syrians fleeing persecution due to the war that was taking place, I realized many of these people had no hope or relief. My heart was broken, especially for the innocent children caught in the centre of such a crisis. When the Canadian government decided to resettle over 25,000 Syrian refugees to save lives and create stability, my heart was overwhelmed with pride and joy. I was also very exhausted with the sad stories on the news, and so I wrote this piece and shared to my Facebook page. I wanted to bring attention to the fact that regardless of who you are, or where you’re from we need to pray for each other and lend a helping hand.

Keep in mind this was written in 2015. I also thought it was fitting to the situations of the pandemic that crippled our lives.

Let us not turn a blind eye to what’s going on around us. Let us not get comfortable believing that our lives are better than others. We are not immune to crisis, we are not immune to sicknesses, we are not immune to disappointments or sudden misfortunes.

Let us begin to pray, and not just for ourselves, but also the world around us. Let us pray for the people in other nations that face life’s struggles daily.

Let us not pray selfishly, and Let us not pray for people who only looks like us, but let us pray openly for our fellow human brothers and human sisters. Our lives matter, all lives matter.

Let this channel of prayer continues, let us not forget our future generation; our children who are so vulnerable to what’s going on around us.

Let us lift them in prayer before God for an anointing, and a divine covering over their lives. Our children are easily influenced, their minds are easily swayed, therefore we have to stand firm in faith on their behalf. Let us have a heart of forgiveness, it is only by this act we will have a clean heart and contrite spirit.

Moving into the weeks, and months ahead 2015 will come to an end. Let us reflect on all the good deeds we’ve done. Let us also evaluate our past actions, let us contemplate on what we could’ve done better. Let us all ask ourselves, is God truly pleased with our praise.

The side effects of Covid-19 will leave many people scrambling to start over their lives, while struggling to get back to some normalcy. This pandemic has negatively affected all of us in some way or the other, whether it be losing jobs, losing a family or friend, or maybe not being able to make ends meet. We all felt the venomous sting of this tragic disease. While we’ve all watched the world physical distance and quarantined, let us remained prayerful, let us have hope knowing this too shall come to past.
