Chronicles from his broken heart #2

The sun will rise shortly, making for a beautiful day, but the feeling of emptiness is in the way. The soul I love has eyes for another man, and I can’t provide the freedom that I know he can. My lover is faithful and can’t be with two. No matter how much my heart may ache, I will still love you.

I know he hurts as much as I do, but now his conscience is intact and free. I, being a selfish old man, must release this vibrant, beautiful fellow, whom I find so grand. I will be happy for him and his new life with the one he loves, but I must get on with my life as much as I can.

Time will pass, the pain will dull each day, and his memories of me will slowly drift away. I wish him the best and know he will be happy, but I will be here if things get crappy. With just a call, I will be by his side to catch him if he falls.
