Chronicles from his broken heart #0

Top-Man and I weren’t supposed to fall in love with each other, but we did. He told me on our first meeting: “This is just hooking up, and we should not catch any feelings for each other.” Of course, I agreed because I was looking for more. I was looking for a lifelong partner. But, as time went on and we began spending more and more time together, we became more emotionally attracted to each other. And as you would imagine, our friendship took a roller coaster ride: falling in love, becoming vulnerable, crying in each other’s arms, breaking up, and getting back together. What makes all of this so complex is the fact that we are both taken by someone else.

While we are still figuring out our conjugal relationship, I will admit he is an angel who comforts me in my darkest moments. And now and then he writes me some lovely poems.

Poem by: Top-Man

As I drive to work in the darkness of the morning sky,

The stretched car’s lights flicker brightly in my eyes.

My mind is on my friend struggling with his emotions as he sees a trend.

I hugged him tightly and told him he was wonderful.

What happens next will be left to fate.

When the heart is torn, it confuses the mind.

I need him to know that whatever happens, he will be fine.
